英勇行为英语作文
篇一
One afternoon in September, 1993, in Tatong, Shanxi Province, a two-year-old boy accidentally fell into a deep ditch. The ditch was only 40 centimeters wide but 45 meters deep, too narrow for adults to go down. At that time, an 11-year-old Young Pioneer named Zhang Tianxi, a miner's son, decided to save the little boy. Zhang was thin enough to reach the bottom of the ditch and had the courage to try to carry the child to the surface. It took him about 45 minutes to complete the rescue, and his brave behavior was praised by everyone. Zhang was awarded the National Top Ten Youth Award for his heroism.

Another example of bravery occurred one Sunday morning in Zhongshan Park. A woman was buying an ice cream when a young man behind her snatched her handbag. Hearing the shouting, several people began to chase the thief. An old man sitting nearby quickly picked up his umbrella and stuck it between the thief's legs, causing the young man to fall to the ground. Soon, two policemen arrived in a car and arrested the thief. The woman thanked the old man, and the bystanders praised him for his cleverness and courage.

We often do not pay much attention to the people around us who perform public service jobs. These people include train station workers, airline stewards, firefighters, police officers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, and soldiers. They are the first to come to our aid during accidents and sometimes at the risk of their own lives. For example, I recently saw a big fire in a ten-story apartment building where firefighters worked under great danger, but luckily no one was hurt. Each of us has the essence of bravery within us, whether it's doing our daily jobs, going to school, or just staying at home. Soldiers are called upon to show bravery in defending our country.
These stories demonstrate that bravery can be found in many forms and that ordinary people can perform heroic acts in extraordinary circumstances.
